AFrame Digital is a research-based technology company delivering intelligent, nonintrusive and secure wireless wellness monitoring and alerting solutions to senior living communities, rehabilitation facilities and in the home. AFrame’s solution, the MobileCare MonitorTM (MCM) is provided as a web-based subscription service. The MCM service provides individuals and their loved ones with peace of mind in an attractive, personalized device they can wear 24/7. The device, called a “myPHDTM” can be worn as a wristwatch or be placed under a bandage or non-intrusively at the torso with a belt clip. The system monitors an individual’s activity, location and physiological status in real time indoors or outside. It enhances situational awareness and can send alert messages by email or SMS text to pagers, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA including iPhone or Blackberry devices) and standard cell phones to immediately notify mobile or remote caregivers and staff that assistance or care is needed. The MobileCare Monitor system is a standards-based open system
that supports integration with existing alarm/call bell systems or other monitoring systems and devices the customer may already have. This ability allows customers to preserve their existing capital equipment investment in other systems while costeffectively enhancing situational awareness. AFrame professionally manages the monitoring service 24/7 so that facilities do not need to invest in or provide extensive information technology support on-site. The entire system is FCC Certified, HIPAA compliant and FDA cleared for marketing. The myPHD wireless monitor in wristwatch form shown in the photo on the left embodies the fashionable style and lack of medical stigma that is the hallmark of the MobileCare Monitor system. Individuals enjoy its analog watch face, lightweight and comfort as well as personalization with a choice of colors. The device contains a triaxial accelerometer that detects movement impacts that could be a fall event and which triggers an alert message without user intervention. Users can call for help manually by pressing the Emergency button on the side. A Privacy button on the top disconnects the watch from the wireless network and allows the user to "opt out" of monitoring for a fixed duration of time. Pressing the Emergency button cancels Privacy and sends an alert. Impacts and falls are not detected during Privacy.
